Master of Arts in Teaching Field Experiences

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program opens a new pathway to teaching for those who have earned a bachelor’s degree and meet other admissions criteria. This pathway enables qualified Kansans and citizens of other states to earn a master’s degree in 12 months through rigorous online coursework combined with field experiences arranged in accredited schools convenient to students in the program. Upon completion, students will be able to apply for teacher certification.

The Office of Field Experiences in consultation with the Director of the MAT program will make placement assignments for both the required practicum and the internship. Every effort will be made to accommodate the MAT students in terms of location and travel.
