Elementary Education

Kansas State University’s Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education is built on the mission of “preparing educators to be knowledgeable, ethical, caring decision-makers for a diverse and changing world.” Elementary education provides a foundation of knowledge and skills for future K-6 teachers, including:

  • Instructional strategies
  • Techniques for planning, classroom management, diversity, discipline and assessment
  • Strategies to adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners

K-State’s program stands apart from the other 20-plus elementary education programs in Kansas and the nearly 5,000 institutions across the country that also offer teacher education programs.

With rich field experiences, a nationally recognized faculty and a teacher preparation program that dates back more than 150 years, you will be well positioned to make a difference in your students’ lives each and every day.

You will have the opportunity to choose your path in General Elementary Education, English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Mathematics, Modern Languages, General Science, Social Science, and Special Education.
