Wildcat Community Tutoring and Educational Enhancement Initiative

As schools and/or students move to remote learning, there is an increase in demand for academic support services throughout K-12. The College of Education, College of Health and Human Sciences, and the Staley School of Leadership Studies have joined together to form the Wildcat Community Tutoring and Educational Enhancement Initiative.

Tutors and Tutoring Appointments

Tutors are K-State students from all disciplines who have an interest in serving their community and academically supporting K-12 learners through a virtual format.

Apply to become a tutor!

Tutors assist K-12 students with their homework, assignments, projects, concepts, etc. We do not complete the work for the student but rather support the student with their learning.

We tutor virtually – tutors will utilize the Zoom platform to assist students. Therefore, it is recommended that students have appropriate technology available including Wi-Fi, computer/tablet with camera, etc. Two tutors are required in every tutoring session.

To sign up for a tutor:
  1. Visit our Wildcat Community Tutoring and Educational Enrichment calendar website and select an appropriate content area.
  2. Select an individual tutor within the content area and search by each day. If the tutor has openings, you will see the times they are available. If there are no times visible, the tutor is booked for that day.
  3. Select an available time and then confirm the appointment. Once a tutoring appointment is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link included.
  4. Complete the Consent, Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk for Virtual/Remote Event for Children Participants form prior to the tutoring appointment. We will not be able to work with any student until we have a waiver on file.

Educational Enrichment Programs

Educational Enrichment Programs will be offered throughout the fall semester. These programs will cover a variety of activities ranging from reading programs to STEM activities. Enrichment programs will be created and led by students from Kansas State University.

Students participating in the enrichment activities must complete the Consent, Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk for Virtual/Remote Event for Children Participants form prior to the tutoring appointment. We will not be able to work with any student until we have a waiver on file.

Enrichment Activities will posted at the Wildcat Community Tutoring and Educational Enrichment calendar website.
