Riegel Family Scholarship in School Counseling

2021 Application Form

Deadline: October 15, 2021

The recipient of this scholarship must be a graduate student enrolled in the School Counseling program in the College of Education at Kansas State University. Consideration will be given to military dependent, spouse, student, or parent. The recipient must have at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale, and have completed at least 12 hours in the School Counseling Graduate Degree Program.

Applicants must submit the following materials:

  • Application form (online below)
  • Letter of application describing yourself, examples of your leadership experiences, professional counseling conferences (including KSU Counseling Camp, KCA/KSCA Spring Counseling Conference, ASCA Annual Conference) you have attended, professional counseling organizations (including KSCA, ASCA) of which you are a member and/or have been involved (presented and/or moderated)
  • Letter of recommendation from a current graduate faculty member to be emailed directly to Pam Monroe at pmonroe@ksu.edu.
  • Resumé
  • Essay of no more than two double-spaced pages addressing the following question: How do school counselors demonstrate leadership, advocacy, and professional identity?
