Teaching Associate Professor, Counselor Education

The Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University invites applications for a two-year, nine-month term teaching associate professor in counselor education with a focus on the doctoral program. The position will begin with the 2019-20 academic year. The appointment is contingent upon continuing availability of funding and need for services. The position will include teaching doctoral courses, including content related to appraisal, diagnosis, program evaluation, and internship. It may include teaching master’s courses, depending on need. Also, the position involves advising doctoral students, being involved in CACREP-related activities, and providing professional service. The department offers graduate degrees in counseling, student affairs, special education, and academic advising.

Associate Dean for Research and External Funding

The Associate Dean for Research and External Funding serves as a catalyst for identifying opportunities, facilitating interdisciplinary projects, and working with campus-wide initiatives related to faculty research and external funding efforts; promoting, supporting, and recognizing faculty and student research development and success; coordinating graduate studies; and facilitating college-wide initiatives related to the mission of the College. This is a full-time, 12-month position beginning no later than August 2019.

Chair, Department of Educational Leadership

The College of Education invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership. The Chair serves as the chief spokesperson and advocate for the Department both within and outside the University and ensures that the Department serves as a vital resource to relevant constituencies in the state and region. This position offers an opportunity for providing dynamic leadership, encouraging creativity and innovation, and supporting colleagues in furthering the work of the Department in a Research I university.

We seek a candidate who is a dynamic leader who will continue the Department’s reputation of working collaboratively with key stakeholders and advancing the Department. This person should be dedicated to quality teaching and scholarly endeavors, and concerned for the professional development and dignity of faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will develop, lead, and support both on-campus and off-campus programs, including on-ground and distance-learning formats, and will be expected to provide key leadership in creating new programming and establishing new partnerships with school districts and select agencies across the Department’s expertise. The candidate will demonstrate well developed communication and interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.

Graduate Teaching Assistant –
Department of Curriculum and Instruction

Graduate Teaching Assistants in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction typically teach undergraduate courses for pre-service teachers and/or supervise practicum students and interns in placements in area schools
