Honors and Research
If you want to maximize your student experience, there are several great opportunities that will not only enhance your academic training but also foster your professional growth.
The University Honors Program works with exceptional students and helps them reach their potential as scholarly, competent and fulfilled leaders. Here’s what Kelly Briggs, a College of Education academic advisor, had to say:“College of Education students who participate in the University Honors Program have the unique opportunity to explore issues both in their chosen discipline AND in the field of education. They not only have access to classes on specialized topics, but they also apply these concepts to real-world experiences that enhance their collegiate experience.”
Undergraduate students have the opportunity to publish their research in a peer-reveiwed academic journal. The inaugural edition of the Prairie Journal of Educational Research was published in April 2016.
Students interested in earning dual degrees in both a STEM field and education, can participate in K-State’s Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program. It is designed to help students prepare for graduate school and other advanced study.
