Planning Sheet for PhD program in Curriculum & Instruction,

Specialization in Educational Computing, Design & Online Learning

2009-2010

All courses in this specialty may be taken online

NOTE: All students need a high speed connection (Cox, DSL, etc.), since we use the audio/videoconferencing software for online courses. Please see: http://coe.ksu.edu/ecdol/hardware_software.htmhttp://coe.ksu.edu/ecdol/hardware_software.htm for more information on recommended hardware and software, and http://coe.ksu.edu/ecdol/Headset_WebCam.dochttp://coe.ksu.edu/ecdol/Headset_WebCam.doc for information on headsets and webcams.

Taking courses from other universities*: It may be helpful to you as you design your doctoral program to locate some courses that are offered closer to you or online. One place you may find such courses is the University of Nebraska: http://extended.unl.edu/gradprograms/catalog.shtml. Remember that you may transfer into your KSU program only 10 hours, and these should be first approved by your advisor. The survey research course is no longer available from KSU. It should be taken from the University of Nebraska.

Finding Courses

Courses listed as "online" can be found through searching the Division of Continuing Education website via course title and number (EDCI 887 ProSeminar 1) or by topic (education, technology, etc.) at https://eis.dce.ksu.edu/CreditReg/CourseSearch/https://eis.dce.ksu.edu/CreditReg/CourseSearch/.

Another course may be substituted for the one we plan to offer if you want to come to campus for it or if you and your advisor agree on an alternative course.
Electives that are offered in the near future and that will satisfy the Specialization requirements, are listed here.
