Revised 10/13/09
Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction
with an emphasis in
Educational Computing, Design & Online Learning (ECDOL)

The credits required for each category or coursework are the minimum number of credits.
Doctoral students are encouraged to take what courses they need to in order to become expert in their field.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE that this resolution was also passed at a Graduate Faculty meeting:
"Up to 30 hours of coursework may be accepted from a MS program and applied to PhD program with an approval of the student’s supervisory committee. The nature of the courses and the length of time since MS program completion will be considered in accepting coursework."

Sixty percent or more of doctoral coursework must be 800 and above (not counting dissertation hours).

Taking courses from other universities*: It may be helpful to you as you design your doctoral program to locate some courses that are offered closer to you or online. One place you may find such courses is the University of Nebraska: http://extended.unl.edu/gradprograms/catalog.shtml. Remember that you may transfer into your KSU program only 10 hours, and these should be first approved by your advisor. The survey research course is no longer available from KSU. It should be taken from the University of Nebraska.
