The Council for Public School Improvement is a public school/university partnership between Kansas school districts and the Kansas State University College of Education.

CPSI was established in 1985 and focuses on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of public school instruction and student achievement through targeted professional development.

Larry is Executive Director of Professional Development at The Leadership and Learning Center in Englewood, Colorado. He travels nationally and internationally to assist school systems in implementing best practices related to standards and assessment across all grade levels. During this conference, Larry will discuss the importance of power standards. Larry regularly works on-site in school systems to assist leaders and educators in understanding and implementing standards-based practices; prioritizing and “unwrapping” the standards, developing common formative assessments, designing authentic performance tasks, and creating rigorous curricular units of study in all content areas, pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
