NSF Gender Equity Grant ($825,000, Co-PI with Jackie Spears & Linda Thurston; 1/03-6/06). Seeing Gender: Tools for Change. Design and produce a DVD for professional development workshops for secondary teachers and higher education faculty to help them develop and use strategies for bringing more women into SMET fields.
Eisenhower Mathematics and Science (Kansas Board of Regents) Grant ($47,543, with John Blair and Valerie Wright; 2001-02) to promote the use of scientific data by teachers (grades 4-12) in the classroom.
Small grants for Konza Prairie web site and Konza for Kids software development. Friends of Konza Prairie ($5000) and Central Charities Foundation ($250).
Eisenhower Mathematics and Science (Kansas Board of Regents) Grant ($25,471; 1994) for teaching rural secondary science teachers to create multimedia documents to enhance understanding of and participation in science; they then did a project in their class on an outdoor area nearby. Their students took field trips to collect data, and produced multimedia documents, shown at a conference.
Eisenhower Mathematics and Science (Kansas Board of Regents) Grant ($38,000; with L. Enochs; 1990-91) for training middle school science teachers in the use of computers and outstanding software in the science classroom to enhance equity in science teaching.
Women's Educational Equity Act Grant ($100,000, U.S. Dept. of Education; with L. Thurston and H. McLellan; 1988-89) for development of a model program for teaching computer expertise and computer equity to rural teachers.
