When
available, the following are links to recent projects and presentations
by students and faculty in the ECDOL Program. Doctoral and master's students typically present at SIDLIT, AECT, MACE, and other conferences.
1) SIDLIT 2009 Presentation Handouts: "Scripting, griefing and lewdness, oh, my!" Lessons learned from teaching in Second Life
Hope Botterbusch (hbotterb@tampabay.rr.com and Rosemary Talab talab@ksu.edu)
Second Life Resources (pdf)
Second LIfe Teaching Suggestions (Based on Botterbusch/Talab research study) (pdf)
2) NECC 09 Poster Session: Understanding by Design Technology Template
This poster session combines Understanding by Design with ISTE NETS for students and teachers. Each of the examples, below, has exemplary "Technology Essential Questions" as well as "Essential Content Questions", since the use of technology in society has implications for our concepts of community, learning, and other topics.
Examples
Note: I have been using UbD for several years, so some of these examples use older versions of the ISTE NETS for students and/or teachers. Also, I ask that students add a rubric and a research-based rationale for their templates. They must also link UbD with Multiple Intelligences, Bloom's Taxonomy and, this semester, Dale's Cone of Experience.
