ECDOL Specialization Description
Educational Computing, Design & Online Learning (ECDOL) is one of the emphases graduate students may choose the KSU Graduate School Certificate in Digital Teaching and Learning, the M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction in either ECDOL or Digital Teaching and Learning, or the Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction program. The faculty in this program are housed in the Dept. of Secondary Education and in other universities and colleges across the U.S. Our focus is lifelong learning, and the ways that technology can improve our thinking and learning processes. Educators whose focus is any age group are welcome. A number of courses are shared by ECDOL and DTL, so you will have the opportunity to work with faculty and students in both areas.

Graduates at the masters level are classroom teachers, technology coordinators, regional service center trainers, community college instructors, instructional designers and doctoral students. Graduates at the doctoral level typically work in higher education, teaching either in their original content area or in educational technology, or taking a leadership position in instructional design or online learning.

For information on an application, seeking admission, and getting started, see "Admission & Financial Aid" (above)

Digital Teaching and Learning (DTL) Specialization Description

DTL is one of the emphases graduate students may choose in the M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction. Faculty are housed in the Dept. of Secondary Education and are assisted by adjunct faculty from school districts.

KSU Graduate School Certificate and Transcript Endorsement (DTL)
The Digital Teaching and Learning specialty offers a Graduate School Certificate and transcript endorsement. However, this not the same as licensure. There is no licensure for technology in the state of Kansas at any level. This certificate program has entrance requirements and exit outcomes. Practicing professionals across the state are consulted in the development and delivery of this specialty, the certificate, and DTL courses. All courses in the Certificate Program require the use of The International Society for Technology in Education National Education Standards (ISTE NETS).

Questions regarding the DTL certificate and DTL courses should be directed to Dr. Rosemary Talab, talab@ksu.edu.
